Expanded and Improved Medicare for All

Why does the US have such a convoluted and costly health insurance system? What does single payer healthcare really mean? Didn’t we already do health insurance reform with Obamacare? We’ll review the state of our current US health insurance system and various proposals for health insurance payment for the future.

Max J. Romano, MD, MPH is an ethical humanist and a physician. He has experienced health insurance the perspective of a patient, parent, clinician practicing family medicine, public health professional working for private health insurance companies, and as an advocate for a comprehensive single-payer system covering all Americans. He is in his final year of residency at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center and Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. He will begin his National Health Service Corps work at Healthcare for the Homeless Maryland in October 2019.
