“Kurt Vonnegut: The Secular Sermonist”
Kurt Vonnegut (1922-2007) advocated his own brand of humanism in novels like Slaughterhouse-Five, Cat’s Cradle, and Breakfast of Champions as well as in many essays and speeches. Sources of the freethinking Hoosier’s sense of morality ranged from Jesus Christ to Carl Sagan. BES member Wayne Laufert will be joined by Kurt Vonnegut Memorial Library board member and Vonnegut Baltimore book club founder Jane Wehrle to explore the best-selling author’s views about how human beings should treat one another.
