“Equal Justice Discussion: Fixing a Broken System”
Mr. Todd Oppenheim, Public Defender, will lead a discussion on the many problems with the justice system along with possible solutions. Mr. Oppenheim will cover the bail system, rulings on issues of stops and seizures of citizens by the police, and the proliferation of the war on drugs within our courts. The talk will focus on an insider’s perspective of everyday occurrences in the courts that often get lost with general public.
Todd Oppenheim became a criminal defense attorney in 2013 at the Office of the Public Defender (OPD). Ever since, he has been a diligent, outspoken, and effective advocate for the indigent people of Baltimore. As a public defender, he has fought hard to defend his clients in a system that is stacked against them.
