Potential Futures with Autonomous Vehicles

In this first of our Summer Sundays, BES member Phil Scherer will talk about how autonomous vehicles are coming and will reshape America in the same way the adoption of manual vehicles did. Talk will briefly cover the state of the technology, and where it’s headed. Primary discussion will cover second-order effects and wider societal issues we may face.

Phil Scherer has a B.S. in Software Engineering, Computer Science, and Robotics from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and a passion for emerging and transformative technologies. During the week he writes software that runs on the cloud and on the weekend he flies small aircraft through them.
