“AEU Assembly Report”

BES members Argentine Craig, Karen Elliott, Kirk Mullen, and Emil Volcheck will report on the 102nd Assembly of the American Ethical Union that took place June 8-11 in Baltimore. The theme of the conference was “Communities Confronting Systemic Racism.” This conference energized 130 participants from across the Ethical Culture Movement who experienced powerful talks, engaging workshops, and a moving platform address by Hugh Taft-Morales. On Sunday, the Assembly adopted a sweeping resolution on systemic racism that called for a study of reparations. The 2018 Assembly will be in Albuquerque.
