Cathy and Tom Eskey attended the Baltimore Beyond Plastic event held at the 2640 on January 25, 2020. Cathy reports.
Baltimore Beyond Plastic, a Baltimore City youth environmental advocacy organization, held an Art & Action Extravaganza Saturday, January 25th at the 2640 Saint Paul St. space. This free event was informative and fun. It was, as well, a call to action! In fact the room was filled with climate action activities ready for attendees to participate in… so you walked in a concerned citizen and walked out an activist! Representatives of Baltimore Beyond Plastic, as well as other environmental advocacy organizations in attendance, were working information tables and getting up on stage to talk to the crowd about their climate action work in the community and to speak of opportunities for people of the community to join in with them. A spectacular spread of vegan food was donated by Land of Kush and the band John Tyler & Love Drift brought everyone to the middle of the floor for dancing and conversation… a climate mixer (for mixing socially to get energized, as a community, to fight climate change with these teens)! This youth group is doing amazing work for a sustainable future! Thank you Baltimore Beyond Plastic!!!
